My hubby was away on a fishing trip last weekend with our son. My daughter and I stayed back and had a great time, playing together and riding bikes. When she fell asleep on the sofa after all that fun, I thought I would get out my paints. I had just painted a detailed double portrait, and I just wanted to enjoy myself doing something quick and very undetailed. I did these two 3x5" mini acrylic doodles that afternoon.

STATUESQUE

Sketched last weekend sitting next to my son who was sick.

I think he really appreciated that I was close by and quiet.    

I saw this in a magazine and loved the pose, so I used it to draw from.

It's a little rough, but I like the art deco feel to it. And I LOVE this dress!

These photos make the drawing look a little washed out, but in person you can see that I added a little pink pencil crayon and chalk smudged here and there.
