Acrylic horses

My hubby was away on a fishing trip last weekend with our son. My daughter and I stayed back and had a great time, playing together and riding bikes. When she fell asleep on the sofa after all that fun, I thought I would get out my paints. I had just painted a detailed double portrait, and I just wanted to enjoy myself doing something quick and very undetailed. I did these two 3x5" mini acrylic doodles that afternoon.

STATUESQUE

Sketched last weekend sitting next to my son who was sick.
I think he really appreciated that I was close by and quiet.
I saw this in a magazine and loved the pose, so I used it to draw from.
It's a little rough, but I like the art deco feel to it. And I LOVE this dress!

Abby and Hannah~~a friend's nieces (twins)

Abby and Hannah
for a friend

These photos make the drawing look a little washed out, but in person you can see that I added a little pink pencil crayon and chalk smudged here and there.

I invite you to check out my website. I just got it up and running, and I'm pretty proud of it. :0)

A cheerful greeting from under the cedars

Just remembering last summer and looking forward to this one.
I planted this little pansy, photographed and drew it, so I look at this as entirely my creation. The cedars were overtaking it and it was hidden beneath them until I clipped some low branches so it could get more sun, and so that everyone could see the cute little treasure that had been hidden from view. So, it had it's little day in the sun until the winter came.

Morena

I was looking through a magazine and came accross a picture of a girl who could be the double of a girl I used to know. She was a loyal client of mine for five years when I worked as an esthetician and nail technician. Whatever bills I had at the time, this girl surely helped pay them because she had money and was always at the salon. Thanks again, Morena, wherever you are. :0)

Seeing Spots

The sun is shining and the temperature here is above freezing. It's the first time this year I've had the feeling spring is on it's way!
I felt like uploading this little water color/pencil crayon piece I did a while ago because the colors remind me of spring.

Pat

Another commissioned portrait in acrylic paint, approximately 11x14".
Unfortunately the photograph didn't come out clearly and now I don't have the painting to redo the photo.
This was a very rush job. I had to finish it in a week, and then I really only had three days to work on it.

The kids

A 16x20" acrylic painting of my kids just for fun.

Victoria Beckham

11x14" Just for fun. I love her style, and that famous haircut (which I tried too, and loved at first, but had a really hard time growing out!) I didn't know she had a tattoo until I saw this in a magazine and thought it added interest to this over the shoulder pose.

Flapper

8x10" This is actually the negative of a drawing I did last summer. I liked the effect.

Meatatarian

11x14" pencil crayon/pastel. Unfortunately the quality of this photograph doesn't do the original piece any justice. I must repost sometime.
